Motion blur measurement method and research progress of liquid crystal display

Abstract: Motion blur is one of the key problems that affect the quality of display images.In this paper,motion blur of liquid crystal display (LCD) is reviewed in detail.First,the causes of motion blur and improvement scheme are introduced.Then,two kinds of motion blur measurement methods are introduced:direct measurement method and indirect simulation method.Direct measurement method including the subjective evaluation of the human eye,high-speed camera method,tracking camera method,rotating mirror method,brightness meter measurement method;indirect simulation method using gray-scale brightness response time,fuzzy image and other basic data simulation the human eye's smooth tracking and brightness time domain integration.The characteristics of various measurement methods are analyzed in detail,and the conclusion is summarized.
