Abstract: Objective To explore the mechanism of GPE inducingapoptosis of colon SW480 cancer cells by NF -κB signaling pathway.Methods Colon SW480 cancer cells were treated with different concentrations of GPE.JC -1 staining was used to detect changes of mitochondrial membrane potential and hoechst staining was used to determine whether the ex-traction can induce apoptosis in colon SW480 cancer cells or not.Simultaneously,expression of NF -κB protein was detec-ted to clear the mechanism of NF -κB signaling pathway in coloniccarcinoma.Results The expression of NF -κB in SW480 cells became depress with treatment of certain concentration of GPE,and the phenomenons of staining showed that GPE had a potential ability to result in cancer cell apoptosis.Conclusion GPE can induce apoptosis of tumor cells in vitro,and the mechanism might be partly related to NF -κB signaling pathway.
