Abstract: In late Ming dynasty two tendencies appeared in the novel creation.One was that the novels were approaching to the reality and the other was that more and more novels on current affairs & politics appeared.The prosperity of the political novels in late Ming dynasty is remarkable.Paying attention to the documentary is an outstanding feature of political novels at that time,which claims our attention.There are four underlying causes of becoming documentary to the political novels in late Ming dynasty.The first is Chinese novels’ tradition of historical biography.The second is the general mood of compiling history personally.The third is that the themes of political novels in late Ming dynasty are contemporary.The fourth is that court bulletin,memorial to the throne,imperial edit and comments are widely used.
