Magnetic Anomaly Based Position Study of Redox Transitional Zone for Sandstone Uranium Deposit

Abstract: Due to redox environment change of sand body,there occurs a series chemical changes of inter-layered oxidation type uranium deposit in redox transitional zone which will bring the magnetic change of minerals near the redox transitional zone,therefore redox transitional zone can be deduced by detecting the mineral magnetism change. In this paper,high precision magnetic measurement was developed in Ili basin which is a typical interlayered oxidation type uranium deposit base in China,ground soil and drilling core samples were systematically collected and magnetic susceptibility were measured. By sum-marizing the magnetic anomaly characteristics of redox transitional zone,the characteristics was used to locate the redox transitional zone. Meanwhile, the placer mineral identification of core samples, the cause of magnetic anomaly and magnetic anomaly characteristics were discussed and analyzed for each belt,which provide an effective means for the prediction of interlayer oxidation type uranium deposit.
