A Discussion on Several Technologies of Preparing Battery Grade Lithium Carbonate with Tibet Saline Lake Lithium Concentrate

Abstract: Tibet area Saline Lakes contains extremely large high-quality carbonate type lithium resources, extraction tech-nology of lithium from Saline Lake has basically been breakthrough, but the technology of preparing battery grade lithium carbonate by lithium concentrate needs breakthrough.In this paper, the several kinds preparation technologies of battery grade lithium carbonate by lithium concentrate in Tibet saline lakes were discussed, analyzed the advantages and disadvan-tages of four kinds technologies: the carbonization-pyrolysis method, carbonization-ion exchange method, causticization-carbonization method and causticization-coordinated removing impurity method.The authors synthetically compared the ad-vantages of process stability and processing cost, thinks that the carbonization-ion exchange removal impurity process is rel-atively stable and reliable process.
